The Enigmatic Duo

An unlikely pair... a perfect fit! Electro-rockers Floating Aliens mash up everything from dub reggae, experimental pop to funky breaks, in a solar-planetary quest for truth, justice and the perfect beat.

This Los Angeles based production team has been a long time in the making. Both, musician/remixer/producer DC and songwriter/musician Kahlid are well versed on the "ins & outs" of the music biz; having both written, remixed and co-produced everything from industrial hard rock to chilled out mushroom jazz. "The style of the music never really mattered,” says front man Kahlid. "We never concerned ourselves with genres or trends. When you're trying to push music to a new place, those things don't mean much. We actually spend more time blurring the lines and mixing things up, until we don't know what the fuck it is... that's exiting."

The pairing of these two abstract minds began with a chance meeting in a session for another recording artist back in 2004. But it would actually be another 3 Years before the stars would align themselves just right, allowing time for these emerging forces to collide. DC explains: "I think it was working together on other artist's projects that made us realize (musically), we really understood each other. So, once we started working on the Floating Aliens project, it was really no big deal... we just got to work." And work is right, for the last year and a half the guys have been knee deep in recording about 14 tracks for their up-coming debut release, tentatively entitled: "Center Of Gravity". In addition, they also speak of being at least halfway through their next record, and are rumored to be in the process of cultivating a live show that, in their own words: "will revolutionize what the live concert performance can be."

That may seem like a very ambitious statement coming from a couple of galactic visitors, but if their artistic motivations are complete global domination or just to rock ya' body, one thing's clear; if Floating Aliens' live show turns out to be half as good as their album... then we mere mortal humanoids can rest assure, we'll all be in very safe hands with these eclectically funky extraterrestrials.
